Human Rights Promoting Initiatives

  • Observance of WORLD HUMAN RIGHTS DAY 2012

                 Bird has' organized seminars in the street corners in the central places under Haroa Development Block of North 24 Parganas District in the observance of World Human Rights Day. It is one of the regular programs  of BIRD as Human Rights Promoting  organization from its very inception. Human Right Day presents an opportunity, every year, to celebrate human right , highlight a specific  issue,and advocate for the full enjoyment of all human rights by everyone everywhere. This year, the focal point of endeavor was to generate a local public opinion against the atrocities of women. While  BIRD focuses on the right s of all people-women ,youth, minorities, persons with disabilities, the poor and marginalized to make their voices heard in public life and be included in political decision making.
More than one hundred youth volunteers assembled to celebrate the day in meaningful way. Some local human rights activists facilitated the programs. BIRD in under the process to from a pressure-group for advocating the human rights related issues of the voiceless people. A conference and training program will be conducted in next financial year to shape the group with the active participation of local lawyers and human rights activists.

  • Education Programme:-(Run and Manage of the School viz. IDEAL ACADEMY:)

          Since the inception of BIRD, we have established start and run a self financing Primary School namely 'Ideal Academy' at Peara village of Haroa  Block for educational development in village area since 2008. We also started Pre-Primary Education Centre at IDEAL ACADEMY. In that Pre-Primary Education Centre 100 nos. children whose age group 0-6 years of were admitted had laid special emphasis on the Pre-Primary Education of children through nursery rhymes, games, Our total student strength was 200 nos.

  • CELEBRATION OF INDEPENDENCE  DAY & REPUBLIC DAY:
             We think that every student should have known as to the notable days of our country. Patriotism is one of moral feature of a student. To raise the patriotism among the students we observe, this year, like every, Independence day and Republic Day in our school. Independence day, Republic Day, Rabindranath s Birth day etc were celebrated through different programmes like songs,dance, recitation, road procession. All of our members and students participated in this programmes.

  • Health Programme:


HEALTH CHECK-UP CAMP:
         We encourage to the people for retaining good health and for which we, with the help of some expert, have arranged camps on FREE HEALTH CHECK-UP. Most of the school students health have been checked. And in this camp we also propagated the advantages of periodical health check-up and how the periodical health check-up can save any person from sudden severs disease.

  • Social-help Programme:

DISTRIBUTION OF CLOTHS AND APPARELS:

        In our country poverty is the main set back for any achievement . Where there are no food/cloths how can we expect education from them ? So in this worsen condition of our society, our organization  has extend their help, within our small capacity, to the poverty stricken people, most of them are our  school students, through  distributing cloths and apparels, This programme was arranged in the vicinity of our society-help programme.
  • Environmental Programme:
TREE PLANTATION:
          In this modern age the most horrible  problem across the world is Global Warming and Environment Pollution which has been caused various reasons, out of which tree cutting are of the greatest problem among them. For removing  these problems we  have, during this year, within our small capacity, have planted trees under Haroa Block primary Health Centre(BPHC).Along with plantation, we have also propagated the importance of the trees and the direct contribution of the trees towards us.
      Our plantation programme was held on 14th February 2013 at Haroa Block Primary Centre(BPHC) under Haroa Block of North 24 parganas, we have planted many plants under the premises of Haroa BPHC. Local youths, villagers,Panchayet member  and Block Medical Officer of Health(BMOH) Dr. Shasanka Podder took part in the plantation programme. The plantation programme was followed by a Voluntary Work Camp. The associated youths rendered voluntary services for cleaning the premises of Haroa BPHC.
  • Cultural Programme:
FUNCTION AND FESTIVALS:

          During this year we have observed different festivals and functions for the recreation of the students and the local people around our society. In the eve of Tagore's Birthday(25th Baishakh), we have arranged cultural function where the students of our school and some other villagers took part for performing Dance, Song,  Recitation, drama etc.
